Reilly Pitzer, a Senior, Bachelor of Arts in communication with a minor in sports media at the University of Colorado, Boulder.

One thing is very evident, Reilly is incredibly passionate about both football and the media. His goal is to become a sports analyst for the Denver Broncos and to be able to utilize his knowledge of the game with his likability and personality on-air.

Currently a Denver Broncos Super Fan, Reilly has become a well-known fan of the Broncos around Broncos Country for his game-day attire and upbeat energy in the stands every Sunday.

Creating a podcast with a good friend in the near future, giving fans a chance to hear his unique combination of game analysis, humor, and knowledge on a consistent basis. He plans to discuss matchups, predictions, and offer behind-the-scenes coverage on what it really means to be a die-hard fan of the game.

Also an active participant in FireUp Tailgate as a member of the organizing team. FireUp Tailgate is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, with 100% of proceeds donated to Children’s Hospitals.

Reilly’s volunteer work with the Denver Broncos and involvement in FireUp Tailgate exemplify how he views sports not only as a community engagement activity, but also as a means of bringing people together for a common cause.

On his blog, NFL Super Fans, Reilly’s personal fan experiences are written in an insightful and analytical way when it comes to the Denver Broncos’ performance, player injury updates, and game day predictions.

A member of the University of Colorado’s National Society of Leadership and Success (NSLS), Reilly was nominated for this honor by the University of Colorado. Nominations are based on three categories of professional development: professional achievement, teamwork, and personal excellence.

NFL Superfans

My name is Reilly Pitzer, and I am a SuperFan for the Denver Broncos. I am from Austin, Texas, but I became a Broncos fan during the 2011–2012 AFC Wild Card game at the SuperBowl 50 champion Steelers. I became a Broncos SuperFan in 2023 after moving to Colorado, and I have attended every NFL Draft since 2022. My official SuperFan name is Reilly MileHigh.

I’m sure I’m not the only person in the world to love professional football. In fact, NFL SuperFans can be found all across the United States cheering on every team in the league. However, while SuperFans certainly love to cheer for their team, their support is shown in all sorts of ways, no matter how wild or crazy they may be.

Face painting, decorating bodies in team colors and logos, donning outrageous and elaborate costumes, and even painting cars, driveways, houses, and entire yards in support of their team are all regular occurrences for NFL SuperFans.

For some SuperFans, their passion for football even becomes a way of life handed down across multiple generations. That’s especially true here in Denver. It takes a lot of time, energy, and money to be a supporter, and we often do it for no reason other than pure love for the game. To NFL SuperFans, Sunday is a religion, and we are its high priests.

As a Colorado resident and official SuperFan, I attend every Denver Broncos tailgate for every home game, rain or shine. I always set up at the Fired-Up tailgate in Lot C, one of the few 503(c) charitable tailgates that accepts donations and redistributes those to local charities.

Many well-known Denver Broncos SuperFans make this fantastic tailgate a regular event. A local photographer, Armando Martinez, is usually on patrol in the scene taking photos of the SuperFans in attendance. (You can view his work by clicking on the link here: Armando Martinez Photography )

I’ve included some of those photos from last season and from the 2023 season below. NFL SuperFans from all around the league love to meet one another at matchups and stay connected on social media. The Fired-Up tailgate is so well known, in fact, that I’ve met SuperFans from opposing teams there on several occasions.

Visiting every NFL stadium in the country is one of my long-term goals as a SuperFan. Instead of just listing all the stadiums I’ve been to, I’d like to share what makes those trips so special: the fan communities. Every new stadium is a new opportunity to experience a unique fan culture and meet new SuperFans, while continuing to build the nationwide network that makes the NFL SuperFan world so special and welcoming.
